Complete Fire Protection Limited. Manufacturers and suppliers of
fire protection materials and fire protection boards. Also stock intumescent slabs
and pipe bandages and canisters.
Under the action of heat, the PVC profile complete
fire protection , softens as the intumescent core expands sealing the gap
between the door and the door frame, through which fire and toxic gas could
pass. The amount of pressure fireplug , developed by
the expanding intumescent is dependent on the gap to be sealed. The wider the
gap the lower the pressure.. The temperature at which Fireplug Intumescent strip
fire protection materials , starts to activate
is 120 - 160 oC. At this temperature no one would survive on the fireside of
the door and in most cases the thermal shock would be fatal to anyone cable
passthrough system suppliers , on the unexposed side opening the door. However,
despite the requisite that the pressure developed by the expanding intumescent
is sufficient to downlighter protection covers ,
keep the door closed it is possible to make the door open if required. Perfomance
Fireplug IFS104 and IF104 has been tested by TRADA to British Standards ventilation
grill manufacturer , BS476 Part 22, on April 20th 1993, test No. FR1687.
The test criteria attained in Fireplug Intumescent Strip being acceptable for
use in many leading manufacturers intumescent slabs ,
doors for 30/30 half hour doors, likewise Fireplug IFS104 and IF104 has been
tested for use on 60/60 one hour doors. Application Fireplug IFS104 and IF104
is fitted into a groove nominally 10mm wide x 4mm deep. To aid fixing, although
not essential, the strip can have a self adhesive backing, alternatives to this
are gluing or securing with tacks. intumescent
pillows , IFS104 and IF104 are fixed similarly but the groove is nominally
20mm wide x 4mm deep. The groove can be routed into either the door or into
the door frame. The rout is along the head of the door and down the jamb. Intumescent
is not required along the bottom as in a fire situation a negative pressure
results making the air flow in the opposite cable
tray blocks , direction to the top. Where the groove is masked by hinges,
locks or other door ironmongery we recommend that FIreplug Intumescent Strip
is used in conjunction with Fireplug Hinge and Lock Protection.
